• Display Unit used in EFS-50 system
• Typical EFS-50 System includes 1 or more ED-551A Display Units, CP-467 Control Panel, SG-465 Symbol Generator; optional MFD and/or Weather Radar can be added
• Panel-Mounted unit used to display flight information process by the Symbol Generator – the Symbol Generator receives information from aircraft attitude, navigation, guidance, and weather radar system sources
• Converts X/Y axis deflections signals & red-green-blue video signals form the Symbol Generator
• May be used as an EHSI, EADI or MFD
• When used as an EADI, an inclinometer is mounted on the front panel
• Weather radar can also be displayed on either the EHSI or MFD
• Unit has no front panel controls
• ED-551A is scaled larger than the ED-461 & ED-462
• Display receives power directly from the aircraft, does not draw current from the Symbol Generator
• Contains an internal fan blower
• An airflow sensor within the display unit will generate a fault indication on the display unit if insufficient airflow is detected
